2024!

15th April 2024

I am looking forward to recording 3 new songs in 2024 and sharing them at gigs in the coming weeks. One of the songs is inspired by a friend and neighbour who whilst he was with us was an inspiration towards the importance of our connection to nature. A proper local legend too!

Lovely Gig at Thrornsett Road

June 2022

My first house concert ! I spent the first couple of songs thinking so much about being heard in an unplugged scenario, and then realised that I could play with the same dynamics as if playing at home. Amazing audience who listened so beautifully and made it really special to play!! Thank you. Welcoming, kind and amazing support for live music found here! Thanks Chris for these kind words, 'A beautiful set from Richard Murison last night. Wonderful guitar playing and delicate delivery that had the room hanging on every word'.

New Video of 'Home Again' live in Epping Forest

May 2022

My nephew William Murison has filmed and produced this live video rendition of 'Home Again'. Thanks to my brother Rob for helping out too. I learnt that playing my stomp box requires certain footwear, so by going for style over substance, I ended up in my socks!

Upcoming Gig at Live at Thornsett Road - Friday 10th June 2022

March 2022

I am really excited to be supporting The Last Inklings at Live at Thornsett Road (LATR) on the 10th June 2022. LATR have an ethos of live acoustic, unamplified sound or very minimal amplification, and this creates a really special space for intimate concerts.

LoFi live Solo version of 'Love in His Eyes' on the Website

February 25th, 2022

I have put in the music section of the website a cheeky LoFi live home recording of 'Love in His Eyes'. It's just me, my guitar and my stomp box which I recorded this month. It gives an idea of what I have been doing when playing a solo gig.

Ocean Wide - Release Date 10th December 2021

26th November 2021

When we were at our recent recording session, the efficiency and joy of live recording gave us unexpected time to record another song. Ocean Wide is an old friend of a song that I wrote 20 years ago, but had never been fully recorded and released. It is inspired by historical stories in a maritime museum of people leaving small port towns to live and work at sea.

Single - 'Get a Move On', Release coming soon!

June 2021

The single 'Get a Move On' will be released on the 6th August 2021. It is the first of a trio of singles to be released in the coming weeks.

Putting together folk guitar and vocals with jazzy tones and the flight of a full band, this song takes the listener on the journey of a day and reflections on parenthood.

Thanks to Lorna Halfpenny-Beeby for the beautiful image I’ve used for the cover, which really captures the sentiment of the song.
